Isabella is an Impact and ESG professional and brings 10 years of experience across international trade and development, with a focus on emerging markets and sustainable and inclusive growth.
Isabella joins ImpactA from INOKS Capital, a Swiss Impact Asset Manager focused on providing private capital to businesses in emerging markets. She worked as ESG Lead, overseeing the Impact and ESG framework across the full investment process and portfolio, as well as ongoing monitoring, reporting and verification. Working with companies in agriculture, renewable energy and financial services, she led on engagement actions to mitigate ESG risks and increase traceability across value chains, and to improve impact outcomes for poverty reduction, gender equity, and environmental sustainability. She also worked on pipeline development and investor engagement for a DFI segregated mandate to boost local supply chains in Africa with specific climate, food security, and gender objectives.
Prior to this, Isabella was awarded the Alfa Fellowship for European and American emerging leaders on Eastern Europe. She worked for the World Bank in the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice, based in the Moscow office. She was engaged on projects to improve SMEs’ access to finance, technology, and integration into global value chains. Previously, she worked in international trade, beginning her career supporting export promotion and business development in Chambers of Commerce in Quito and in London, and for the law firm Mishcon de Reya LLP with a responsibility to develop the strategy and partnerships in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Isabella is fluent in Spanish and Russian and holds a first class degree in the languages from the University of Bristol, with a year abroad programme in Tomsk and Quito. She has an MSc in Impact Investment and Sustainable Finance from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with a placement at GAWA Capital, Spain’s leading impact investor.
